    Where to get the best French food on the Treasure Coast

    Outside of France, July 14 is called "Bastille Day." But in France, the national holiday is called "la féte nationale" or "le quatorze juillet." Either way, it commemorates two historical events:

    • Storming of the Bastille on July 14, 1789, which sparked the French Revolution
    • Fête da la Fédération on July 14, 1790, which celebrated the Revolution and national unity throughout France.

    In honor of the holiday, here are the few French restaurants in Martin, St. Lucie and Indian River counties:

    INDIAN RIVER COUNTY

    Chez Frenchie's

    Chef Jean "Frenchie" was born in Paris and for over 25 years lived in many different cities in the South of France, where he learned the art of French cuisine. He has been a chef and restaurant operator in Florida for over 35 years. Chez Frenchie's has a variety of prime meats from Creekstone Farm in Kansas and local seafood prepared in the style you would find on the French Riviera. He and his wife, Edyta, operated Di Mare for over 12 years before rebranding as Chez Frenchie's in 2023.

    Amuse Bouche Crêpe Café

    The crêperie is owned by a Belgian family who serves savory and sweet crepes as well as waffles, sandwiches and gelato.

    Slice of Paris

    Salah Fekih started the bakery in 1998 and his business partner is Jackie Dodgen. He was trained by colleagues in France. His baked goods, breakfast and lunch items are made from scratch with natural ingredients that are purchased from French suppliers.

    ST. LUCIE COUNTY

    Frittata Café & Bistrot

    Frittata is a breakfast and lunch and European market place with many coffee drinks, flatbreads, tapas, crepes, waffles, salads, paninis, croissants, frittatas and much more.

    MARTIN COUNTY

    La Grande Martier

    Located in the historic Post Office Arcade, it serves European-inspired cuisine and has a wine garden, piano bar and speakeasy. It serves brunch, lunch and dinner; and has two bars, live music, a crystal veranda, hearth room and French terrace. Chef Toryus offers weekly specials and a French City & Country Wine Tour Dinner Tuesday-Thursday.

    Sucré French Bakery & Cheesery

    Sucré is an authentic French bakery that features coffee, croissants, waffles, sandwiches served all day, pastries and salads, all made in house. It is open for breakfast and lunch.

    Importico's Bakery

    For over 30 years, Importico has been inspired by the famous Old World French and Italian bakeries.
