Hiring: How to apply for Amazon jobs in Port St. Lucie warehouse

Amazon opened its Port St. Lucie warehouse Wednesday and is hiring workers. The 1.1-million-square-foot warehouse is in the Midway Business Park at Midway Road and LTC Parkway in St. Lucie County.

Here's what to know:

• Employees: Amazon aims to hire 1,000
• Pay: Begins at $17.50 an hour for day shifts and $18 an hour for night shifts
• Shifts: Two 10-hour shifts
• Workweek: 4 days
• Hiring: Expected to continue through at least September
• How to apply: Amazon posts slots for pre-employment screening appointments most Friday nights, sometime after 7 p.m. Go to amazon.com/flexiblejobs . Once slots are booked for the week, the site will say “no jobs available.” But they may reopen the following Friday.
