    Cold front in Florida?

The Weather Channel reported that a "slow-moving cold front will stall across Central Florida this week. Areas north of the front will see a slightly cooler and less humid air move in, but many will remain hot and humid. Rain chances will stay in the forecast all week long for areas south of the front."

Heavy rain will be more scattered with an inch or more possible in select locations in Florida.

In its Thursday, Aug. 22, tropical outlook weather advisory, the National Hurricane Center in Miami notes:

    • A stationary front extends southwestward to inland northeast Florida, and continues from there to the Gulf of Mexico. Increasing scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are noted to the northwest. A narrow upper-level trough extends south-southwestward to the central Caribbean Sea. Increasing scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are also evident.
    • For the forecast, the aforementioned stationary front will linger in this area through Friday and dissipate by Saturday. Showers and thunderstorms will occur near this boundary through Friday, potentially producing gusty winds and locally rough seas. Otherwise, moderate to locally fresh northeast to east winds and moderate seas will continue through the next few days.

Where will the cold front be in Florida?

Weather Channel forecasts show Melbourne with a high of 86 degrees on Friday and a low of 77 degrees that night and into the weekend. For Tallahassee, the weather service predicts 88 degrees on Friday with a low of 70 degrees that night and into the weekend. For South Florida, the Weather Channel forecast for Friday shows a high of 87 degrees Friday and a low of 80 into the weekend.
