    By Eve Pierpont,

China is one of the earliest civilizations in Asia to master steady agriculture, allowing its cuisine to rapidly evolve, embody a distinctive flavor, and influence many dishes throughout East Asia.

Food is vital in Chinese culture. It is believed that eating good food fosters unity among families and strengthens bonds as it usually consists of many shared dishes, encouraging communal dining.

Chinese culture emphasizes the dish’s flavor, color, aroma and texture. Meals typically have fruits, vegetables, grains and meat, using tofu and soymilk as alternatives to dairy.
