TCPalm Athlete of the Week (Sept. 23-28)

Boys Bowling: Shane Bender, Vero Beach - Bender rolled a high game of 256 and had a high series of 466 during Vero Beach’s victory over Sebastian River.

Boys Golf: Gatlin Albright, South Fork - Albright produced strong performances during a pair of Bulldogs victories. He opened the week with a three-under-par 33 to claim a three-shot win at the Hammock Creek Golf Club. He followed that by shooting a 1-under-par 35 to finish tied for second at the Jensen Beach Golf Club.

Boys Swimming: Louis St. Petery, Sebastian River - During a meet at the North County Aquatic Center, the junior won a pair of individual events while helping the Sharks to the fastest times in a pair of relays. Swimming legs in wins in the 200-yard medley relay and the 200-yard freestyle relay, St. Petery claimed victories in the 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard backstroke.

Football Defense: Dakari Greene, Sebastian River - The senior defensive back snatched two interceptions and nine total tackles during the Sharks’ shutout win over Okeechobee.

Football Offense: Levi LeFebure, Master’s Academy - The senior celebrated Senior Night in style, rushing for 204 yards and five touchdowns during a Patriots shutout victory.

Football Special Teams: Johnny Delancy, Jensen Beach - The senior athlete had a 95-yard kickoff return touchdown during the Falcons’ district home win over Port St. Lucie.

Girls Bowling: Hannah Whetzel, Jensen Beach - Whetzel bowled a high game of 226 and a high series of 395 to lead the Falcons to a win over Lincoln Park Academy.

Girls Golf: Darci Wagner, Vero Beach - The junior shot a 1-over-par 73 to take a four-shot victory during an 18-hole match from The Club at Admiral’s Cove.

Girls Swimming: Izzie Fenniman, Jensen Beach - Fenniman captured wins in the 100 freestyle and the 100 backstroke while helping the Falcons win the 400 freestyle relay during a meet at the North County Aquatic Center.

Volleyball: Ellie Smith, Vero Beach - The senior setter dished out 44 assists while collecting seven digs during Vero Beach’s sweep of Fort Pierce Central.
