Sioux Falls area nonprofits receive $600k from Beyond Idea Grant
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Seven nonprofits in the Sioux Falls area received a share of $600,000 in grants on Monday for community-based problem-solving efforts. In partnership with the Bush Foundation, the South Dakota Community Foundation awarded the grants through their Beyond Idea Grant program. SDCF has awarded nearly $3.6 million dollars from the Beyond Idea Grant program since 2022.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — At around 3 p.m. Monday, KELOLAND meteorologist Brian Karstens got a photo of a funnel cloud above Sioux Falls. The KELOLAND Weather team said in an X post that the cloud was “harmless.” The public could see a few more funnel clouds popping up through the afternoon and evening.
1 person treated by paramedics after Saturday house fire in Sioux Falls
One person had to be treated by emergency responders following a residential fire Saturday in Sioux Falls, according to a press release from Sioux Falls Fire Rescue. Firefighters responded at 3:30 p.m. to 600 block of N. Cleveland Avenue for reports of a structure fire. When they arrived, they discovered smoke and flames, with the main part of the fire in the basement.
