Former employee Lonna Carroll is accused of embezzling the money over a 13-year period. Brookings Senator Tim Reed is a member of the Government Operations Audit Committee. In addition to learning how it happened, he wants to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

ATV crash near Garretson kills 16-year-old
Authorities say a 16-year-old girl was killed Sunday evening after an ATV crash near Garretson. The crash also left a 30-year-old man with life-threatening injuries. A release from the South Dakota Highway Patrol stated the ATV was traveling north at 7:04 p.m. on 487th Avenue when it lost control and entered a ditch near 253rd Street, rolling and ejecting both occupants.
