U.S. 117 north of Teachey closing for drainage improvements at the end of the month

Residents of Teachey are advised to find alternate routes and allow extra commuting time starting July 22.

According to the NCDOT, U.S. 117 north of Teachey is closing for an underground pipe replacement. The road should be reopened again by the end of the month.

There will be a detour taking drivers to Charity Road, Interstate 40, N.C. 11 and N.C. 41.

All drivers are advised to plan accordingly and be cautious.
