Lions roar past Buffalo
The Teague Lions have the words “Let’s hunt” on the sides of their pants legs. And hunt they did against Buffalo on Friday night, Sept. 15. The Lions’ defense hunted Buffalo ball carriers and receivers in a dominating, punishing effort. The Lions’ offensive linemen hunted Buffalo defensive players and wore down the Bison with their physical play. The Lions’ running backs hunted gaping holes through which they ran. And when the hunting was done, Teague had gashed Buffalo, 54-0, at Lions Stadium. It was the final non-district contest for Teague (3-1). The Lions will be off this week and will begin District 203A...

Lions look to bounce back after tough 7-6 defeat
, , , For fans of low-scoring defensive football, last Friday’s matchup between Teague and Centerville was one for the ages. Ultimately, a blocked extra point in the closing seconds of the second quarter proved to be the difference in the Tigers’ 7-6 victory over the Lions in Centerville. Despite the loss, Teague coach Zach Linscomb believes his team played well. “When you play good defense, you’re going to give yourself a chance,” Linscomb said. “We played good enough defense and gave ourselves a chance, but we just weren’t able to take advantage of some opportunities that presented ourselves. Against a good...

Lions face old school Tigers in battle of unbeatens
Friday night, the Teague football team might feel as if it traveled back in time. Not to be confused with Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves joining George Carlin in a time-traveling phone booth, the Lions are facing a Centerville team who runs an offense that was more common back in the day - the Wing-T. While Friday night’s contest might not have any other resemblance to the movie, Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure, this battle of 2-0 teams who both have orange as a school color will likely be a physical one. “You saw the Wing-T and Slot-T more when I first...
