During Spring Break, the Teague Lady Lions continued their mastery of District 20-3A opponents by winning three games last week.
Teague (13-6, 4-0 in 20-3A) won a shootout against Fairfield, 16-12; dominated Mexia, 21-0; and claimed a defensive slugfest against Buffalo, 5-2. All three games were on the road as well.
The Lady Lions hosted Westwood on Tuesday. They visit Franklin at 6 p.m. Friday and visit Elkhart at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

    TEAGUE 5, BUFFALO 2
The arm of Lamar signee Kaylee Cuevas proved to be too much for Buffalo in Teague's 5-2 victory over the Lady Bison on March 13. Cuevas struck out 13 batters and gave up just two runs on three hits.
Cuevas also wrecked havoc with her bat. Following a Laynie Morrow single, Cuevas sent a 1-0 pitch over the left field fence to put the Lady Lions up 2-0.
The score remained the same until the top of the fifth when Teague put three more runs on the board to build a 5-0 lead. Keely Mathis singled and scored on an error, Reese Stacks drove in a run on a sacrifice fly, and Cate Satterwhite hit an RBI single.
Buffalo used a pair of hits and a groundout to score two runs in the bottom of the seventh before Cuevas recorded the game-clinching strikeout. Cuevas (2-2, 2 BB, 2B, HR, 2 RBI), Mathis (2-4, 2B) and Satterwhite (2-4, RBI) led Teague at the plate.

    TEAGUE 21, MEXIA 0
The Lady Lions hardly broke a sweat in a 21-0 rout at Mexia on March 12. The game was called after three innings because of the 15-run rule.
Despite the lopsided victory, Teague only had two hits on the night - a two-run homer from Cuevas and an RBI triple from Mathis. The Lady Lions scored most of their runs off of 19 walks, four hit batsmen and five Mexia errors.
Andrea James threw a one-hit shutout for Teague.

    TEAGUE 16, FAIRFIELD 12
The Lady Lions used three big innings to hold off Fairfield, 16-12, on March 9. Teague scored four runs in the first, six in the fifth and five in the sixth.
The game was originally scheduled for March 8 in Teague, but rain and thunderstorms forced the game to be moved to Fairfield on March 9. The game between Teague and Fairfield scheduled for April 2 will now be played in Teague.
The Lady Lions used four singles and a walk to score four runs in the top of the first to take a 4-0 lead in the top of the first. Stacks hit an RBI single, Korree Riskin hit a two-run single and James recorded an RBI on a groundout.
Stacks recorded an RBI single in the top of the second to increase the Teague lead to 5-0. But Fairfield answered with a run in the bottom of the second and three runs in the bottom of the third to pull within a run, 5-4.
After a scoreless fourth inning, the Lady Lions took advantage of four walks and two errors to build an 11-4 lead. The Lady Eagles scored three runs to make it 11-7 after five complete.
Both teams scored five runs in the sixth inning. In the top of the sixth, Teague used an inside-the-park home run from Mathis, two singles and two hit batsmen to increase its lead to 16-7.
Fairfield used four walks and two errors to score five runs in the bottom of the sixth. Neither team scored in the seventh.
Cuevas struck out 12 batters, while giving up 12 runs on six hits. Mathis (2-4, BB, HR, 6 RBI), Riskin (2-4, BB, 2 RBI) and Stacks (2-4, BB, 2 RBI) led the Lady Lions at the plate.
