Teague ISD honored its Employee, Teacher, and Administrator of the Month at its March board meeting on Tuesday, March 26. All board members were present except for Justin Lee.

TISD Superintendent Chris Skinner recognized Courtney West as the Employee of the Month, Julie Paris as the Teacher of the Month, and Crystal Adams as the Administrator of the Month for the month of March.

Administrators reported that teachers were receiving benchmarks and planning instruction for the upcoming STAAR tests. Accelerated Instruction Days are planned for March 27 and April 24.

Adams reported that after the Pre-K and Kindergarten Extravaganza there are 44 students signed-up for Pre-K and 70 students for 70. The school will start enrolling more students on April 1.

The board approved paying the bills totaling $360,382.05.

The 2024-2025 academic calendar was approved by the board. The staff development waiver for the 2024-25 school year was also approved.

Claims Administrative Services were renewed for workers’ compensation plans.

Several Teague ISD administrators met with Wortham ISD recently to discuss partnering with the Career and Technology classes. WISD is interested in a few programs at TISD and TISD is interested in WISD’s EMT and CMA Industry Based Certification.

Skinner will be serving as the Vice President for the Navarro College Foundation Board. He has also been nominated to serve on the Texas Education Agency’s Comminener’s Cabinet.

Enrollment at Teague ISD is 1,224 students.

After the executive session, the board approved the resignations as presented. The board also approved the renewals/extensions for administrators, directors, and coordinators as presented.

Teacher contracts, counselor contracts, librarian contract, and registered nurses contracts were approved as presented.

The meeting adjourned at 7:17 p.m.
