Dew ISD is splitting its superintendent and principal positions. Kris Staggs was named the Dew ISD Principal last week. An interim superintendent will be named at a later date.

Darrell Evans, who has served as the Dew ISD Superintendent and Principal for the last nine years, is retiring.

Evans has been in education for 39 years. He served as the Superintendent of Bosqueville ISD for one year before coming to Dew.

“I want to thank the Board of Trustees, our staff, and our community for the trust they have placed in me for the past nine years. Together, we have advanced the mission of our district and potential for our students - of course, it didn’t come without challenges along the way,” Evans said. “During my time here, we have successfully navigated a path filled with ample challenges. Dew ISD has proven to be a resilient school district, and I’m proud of what we have accomplished together. I feel positive about the future of Dew ISD.”

Darrell’s wife, Nadine will also be retiring at the end of the school year. She has been a special education teacher for many years, serving numerous students in Central Texas.

Darrell and Nadine plan to do some traveling and spoiling their grandchildren during retirement.
