A Missouri woman was arrested today on federal charges related to an alleged scheme to defraud Elvis Presley’s family of millions of dollars and steal their ownership interest in Graceland, the iconic former home of the legendary singer in Memphis, Tennessee.

Lisa Jeanine Findley, 53, of Kimberling City, Missouri, also known by several aliases, faces charges of mail fraud and aggravated identity theft. The charges stem from a fraudulent scheme in which Findley allegedly attempted to sell Graceland by falsely claiming that Elvis Presley’s daughter had pledged the property as collateral for an unpaid $3.8 million loan before her death.

According to the criminal complaint, Findley allegedly fabricated loan documents, forged signatures, and submitted false filings to courts and county offices. She also published a fraudulent foreclosure notice, announcing that Graceland would be auctioned. When her scheme gained global attention, Findley allegedly tried to blame a Nigerian identity thief for the plot.

Federal authorities, including the U.S. Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) and the FBI Memphis Field Office, led the investigation. If convicted, Findley faces a mandatory minimum of two years in prison for aggravated identity theft and up to 20 years for mail fraud.

The case underscores the ongoing efforts by federal agencies to protect high-profile estates from fraud and ensure that justice is served.
