USDA Issues Nationwide Public Health Alert for Illegally Imported Meat and Poultry Products from Mya

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announed a nationwide public health alert for various meat and poultry products that were illegally imported from the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, a country not authorized to export such products to the United States.

The products, which do not bear any official import marks, were discovered during routine FSIS surveillance at a retail location. These items have been distributed to retail outlets across the nation, raising concerns about their presence on store shelves and in consumers' homes.

The products and labels in the attached list are subject to the public health alert, regardless of the product date. View labels [here].

Although there have been no reported cases of illness linked to the consumption of these products, FSIS urges consumers who may have purchased these items to discard them immediately or return them to the place of purchase. Retailers are also advised to stop selling the affected products.
