Projects that only happened because people with a dream stepped up and got it done, securing donations and grants for the State Theatre, Cone and Kimball Plaza, the future Red Rock statue, scholarships, and more. Great job, everyone!

I am no expert on how to solve the growing drug and homeless crisis in Tehama County but I’ll go ahead and bite off more than I can chew anyway. Before I offer my controversial solution, I’d like to start by saying it is unacceptable for law-abiding citizens to feel afraid to stop for gas on Antelope Boulevard or at the gas stations near Wendy’s and Raley’s. I had an unfortunate encounter with a woman at the Shell Station on my way home from a fair board meeting last month. It ended when I gave up after filling my car with less than $5 in gas. I limped back to the Petro Truck Stop in Corning, where there are fewer encounters with nighttime wanderers.
