Transforming Public Lands: Bureau of Land Management’s New Strategy for Mendocino and Neighboring Counties
The following is a press release issued by the Bureau of Land Management:. The Bureau of Land Management today announced the proposed Northwest California Integrated Resource Management Plan and Final Environmental Impact Statement, updating management for public lands in BLM’s Arcata and Redding field offices. If finalized, the plan will guide management of approximately 382,200 acres of BLM-managed public land and approximately 295,100 acres of subsurface minerals in Butte, Del Norte, Humboldt, Mendocino, Shasta, Siskiyou, Tehama, and Trinity counties for the next 15 to 20 years.
Baseball field dedicated to former Tehama County supervisor
RED BLUFF — The late Burt Bundy was honored Tuesday with the south Little League ballfield at Mill Creek Park being named “Burt Bundy Memorial Field.”. Bundy’s wife, Joyce, shared that he and his buddy were constantly building and rebuilding the backstop fencing. He played slow pitch at the other big fields, and the family would pile their boys and their Great Dane dog in the back and go over to play ball and let kids run around. She called this park the nucleus of the Los Molinos community.
Red Bluff renews animal shetler services deal with county
RED BLUFF— The City Council renewed the animal shelter services agreement between Tehama County and Red Bluff on Tuesday. It is almost identical to the previous agreement, with a few exceptions. The county was permitted to limit the delivery of stray or other animals from city residents to business hours if they chose to.
Fatal Shooting in Gerber Under Investigation
On May 31, 2024, at approximately 12:30 AM, Tehama County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) deputies responded to a reported shooting in the 300 block of Ventura Avenue, Gerber. Upon arrival, deputies found two male victims with gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving efforts, one victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while the other was transported to a local hospital and remains in stable condition.

Police pursuit ends in fiery crash in Tehama County Wednesday morning
TEHAMA COUNTY, Calif. - A police chase in Tehama County ended with a crash and a vehicle fire early Wednesday morning. The Corning Police Department said around 2:30 a.m., they observed a vehicle displaying a Michigan license plate, which was confirmed to be expired. Police conducted an enforcement stop on the vehicle, but it failed to stop and led officers on a pursuit.
Tehama County law enforcement takes part in torch run fundraiser
Tehama County Law enforcement officers took part in the Northern California long enforcement torch run, which is a fundraiser for Special Olympics Northern California. Tehama County Deputy Probation Officer Samantha Murphy said that three athletes were going to run the full length of the torch run that started on Main Street at the Red Bluff CHP office and ended at the Courthouse at 633 Washington St.
