BUCYRUS - As a sophomore he was the best player in the Northern 10. As a junior he was bested by a once-in-a-lifetime season for top honors in the league. But senior year, Wynford's Grant McGuire reclaimed his spot atop the N10 being named Player of the Year for the second time.

Entering the second week of postseason play, McGuire is batting .478 with 33 hits — 10 doubles, one triple, seven home runs — 30 runs, 41 RBIs, 15 stolen bases, 23 walks drawn, .624 on-base percentage and .957 slugging.

Having tied the single-season home runs record twice with five as a sophomore and junior, he holds the record outright now. And his 17 career homers extend his already owned record by 10 over those in second. McGuire also owns the top three single-season records for RBIs and doubles, along with three of the top four seasons for slugging … plus he's the career leader in batting average, RBIs, runs, doubles, and slugging.

Also on the first team were fellow Royals seniors Spencer Miller (.424 avg., 36 hits, 32 runs, 20 RBIs; 2.54 ERA, 26 strikeouts) and Kaiden Blair (.486 avg., 35 hits, 40 runs, 15 RBIs; 3.00 ERA,25 strikeouts), along with junior Drew Johnson (.463 avg., 37 hits, 18 runs, 35 RBIs; 3.22 ERA, 42 strikeouts). Joining them were seniors Micah Thomas of Colonel Crawford (.375 avg., 27 hits, 17 runs, 21 RBIs; 3.50 ERA, 30 strikeouts) and Jacob Hiler of Buckeye Central (.476 avg., 30 hits, 14 runs, 14 RBIs).

Second teamers include a quartet of seniors; Heath Jensen and Isaac Hiler of Buckeye Central, Jacob Lucius of Colonel Crawford, and Bucyrus' Malachi Bayless.

Honorable mentions include a pair of seniors in Bucyrus' Kam Lewis and Wynford's Brett Crall, along with two talented sophomores in Colonel Crawford's Deagan Moore and Buckeye Central's Jeremiah Fishpaw.
