Throughout the summer, we’re inviting you to share your best shots from sporting events featuring individuals and/or teams from Hawkins County. Any age group, any level, win or lose. This week’s segment features the 18U TN Stars Fastpitch (Pickering) players and coaches, who are putting in the work on the softball field this summer. Volunteer is well-represented on the squad with rising junior Hadley Spears, rising senior Jenna Thomas and 2024 graduate Haley Russell, a Covenant commit. Lady Falcon Jayden Ford, a rising junior, has also played with the team. This weekend, the Stars will travel to Dalton, Georgia, for the PGF World Series. The Stars are coached by Jonathan Pickering with assistants Devin Thomas and Jason Spears.

The study conducted by OxFamAmerica.org looked at three key areas of American work life: wages, worker protections, and rights to organize. Brown earns RCS' Al Reushel Award
ROGERSVILLE — Cross country team captain Brayden Brown at Rogersville City School was honored this week with the Al Reushel Memorial Scholar-Athlete Award, a prestigious honor presented to an eighth grader who participates in at least two sports and maintains the highest cumulative GPA within their class. Brown, the team captain on the cross country team, was also presented the Bob Moncier Memorial “Fight Like a Warrior” Award.
