Tempe and Litchfield Park voters have elections to prepare for next month, and some of them will be receiving two ballots.

There are local elections in each community along with the Presidential Preference Election. The local elections, which will be all-mail, are March 12, and the PPE is March 19.

“That means Tempe and Litchfield Park voters who are also eligible to participate in the PPE and are on the Active Early Voting List will soon receive two ballots by mail,” a release from the Maricopa County Recorder’s Office stated.

The ballot for the March 12 jurisdictional election will come in a green envelope with a red stripe. The ballot for the March 19 PPE will come in a green envelope with a yellow stripe.

The deadline to register to vote in the local elections was Feb. 12, and county officials recommend ballots be mailed back by March 5.

Registration for the PPE ends Feb. 20. Only registered Democrats and Republicans are eligible to participate.
