Tempe will be at the center of much of the weekend’s freeway work.

A section of eastbound US 60 will be closed along with a portion of southbound Loop 101 for several projects from Friday night, April 26, to Monday morning, April 29, state transportation officials said.

Eastbound US 60 will be closed between I-10 and Mill Avenue from 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday for the I-10 Broadway Curve improvement project. Eastbound I-10 will be narrowed to three lanes between 40th Street and Baseline Road, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

All ramps from I-10 to eastbound US 60 will be closed along with the westbound I-10 on-ramp at Baseline Road.

ADOT officials suggest drivers consider traveling to eastbound Loop 202 in Chandler to northbound Loop 101 to access US 60 beyond closure.

In addition, the eastbound I-10 on-ramp at 40th Street will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday.

There also will be pavement work taking place along southbound Loop 101, forcing it to close between US 60 and Guadalupe Road  from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Southbound Loop 101 on-ramps at University Drive also will be closed along with both US 60 ramps to southbound Loop 101.

ADOT recommends drivers consider exiting ahead of the closure and using the southbound Price frontage road before connecting with southbound Loop 101 beyond the closure. Other local routes include southbound Dobson Road or McClintock Drive, officials said.
