A 22-year-old man has been arrested as the suspect in a Monday morning shooting that left another man dead in north Tempe, police said.

Austin James-Raul Daleo has been charged with second-degree murder and reckless discharge of a firearm within city limits in connection with the death of Joseph David Aguilar, 49, police said.

Tempe police officers responded about 12:30 a.m. May 20 to Scottsdale Road and McKellips for a call of shots being fired.

They found the victim with gunshot injuries. Lifesaving efforts were provided, but Aguilar died at the scene, police said.
