The Tempe Transit Store is offering extended evening and weekend hours to help riders sign up for reduced fare passes and the Youth Transit Pass Program.

Reduced fare is available for seniors 65 and older, persons with disabilities and Medicare card holders, a city release explained.

A reduced fare account will be required by Aug. 1, to purchase anything other than 1-Ride. Riders will need to choose between the Valley Metro app or reduced fare Copper card when applying.

All qualified riders can apply online now for reduced fare by visiting valleymetrofares.org. All riders are encouraged to visit valleymetro.org/reducedfare to confirm their needed documents.

The enhanced hours are also a great opportunity for families to get a youth pass for summer activities and the upcoming school year, according to the release.

Tempe and Guadalupe kids ages 6-18 are eligible to ride transit for free with the Youth Transit Pass Program. Specific documents are required when applying. Visit tempe.gov/YouthPass for information.
