Macy's Fireworks Event Draws Crowds to Waterfront
HOBOKEN, NJ- The Macy’s Fireworks returned to the Hudson River on July 4th for the first time in ten years. There were five barges on the water with 60,000 shells to light up the sky. Hoboken’s viewpoints provided an unobstructed view of the Hudson River and the New York City skyline. College-Bound NYC Students Earn $10,000 Milken Scholars Award
Four New York City students have been selected to join the prestigious 2024 class of Milken Scholars. The scholarship Program honors high school seniors in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles County each year with a $10,000 cash prize and lifelong access to college advising, career counseling, internship assistance, community service opportunities, and a fund to help with graduate school applications, unpaid internships, study abroad programs, and other costs associated with their pursuit of a career.
Second Phase of Redevelopment at Kingsland Commons Set to Begin this Summer
Construction on the second phase development of Kingsland Commons, the former Greenpoint Hospital Campus, is set to begin this summer. The redevelopment will include an 18-story building with 311 permanently affordable homes serving low income residents including formerly homeless individuals and families. Construction is expected to be completed in April 2027.

The second phase of the City Hall portico restoration project builds upon the stone patching, roofing tile, and framing replacements completed in 2020 by repointing and restoring the original masonry.
