Fast food fans are rejoicing after McDonald’s announced that customers can grab a free medium fries at the fast food chain every Friday with every order of $1 or more via the McDonald’s app.

Along with the return of 'Free Fries Friday' to the app through the end of 2024, the chain has also said it will be rolling out another deal on the favorite snack to celebrate National French Fry day and this one is completely free.

Customers can snag a free fries of any size without any kind of purchase necessary, to celebrate National French Fry day on July 13. Another offer for fans of the fast food franchise comes in the form of the recently-unveiled $5 meal deal.

The McDonald's Meal Deal is due to roll out across restaurants nationwide on June 25 and will include a sandwich, fries, nuggets and a drink all for $5. Customers will be able to choose from a McDouble or McChicken sandwich with small fries, four-piece chicken McNuggets and a soft drink.

Certain local areas too will see deals and discounts for app users, like Buy One Get One for $1 breakfast sandwiches in Memphis, Tennessee, a Double Cheeseburger & small fries for $3.50 in Columbus, Ohio, or a mix and match McChicken and McDouble deal for $3.99 in parts of New York state.

The $5 meal deal will be available for a limited time at participating McDonald’s restaurants nationwide. “We heard our fans loud and clear – they're looking for even more great value from us, and this summer that's exactly what they'll get,' said Joe Erlinger, president of McDonald's USA.

“Value has always been part of our DNA. We're focused on living up to that legacy and offering delicious, affordable options customers can enjoy any time they walk through our doors, go through our drive thru or place an order through our app.”

The restaurant has launched the deals amid some claims that it is no longer good value for money after rising its prices. In an open letter to customers Erlinger said prices had 'only' gone up 40 percent across its 14,000 US restaurants since before the pandemic.
