Wedding guests plan to throw red wine over woman breaking wedding fashion rule

A boutique owner who plans to wear a cream dress to a wedding is facing backlash from guests who are threatening to pour wine over her gown .

Katie Reilly, the owner of Brooklyn Blvd in Tennessee , plans to wear a cream corset-style midi dress to a wedding .

But people said a white or cream dress “should not be worn to a wedding”. Some even threatened to throw red wine over her for wearing white on the bride's special day.

Katie insisted her choice of outfit is appropriate for a wedding as the dress is not white. Katie, who posts under the username @ shopbrooklynblvd on TikTok, said: “Is this dress too white to wear to a wedding? HELP. The dress is obviously cream… not too white?!?”

Her video quickly amassed 1.3 million views, mainly from social media users urging her not to wear the dress to a wedding .

One said: “No shade of white including cream, ivory, beige, anything remotely close should be worn to a wedding!”

Someone else asked: “Is this satire?????". Kate responded: “Absolutely not.”

Another said: “Girl it’s common sense to never wear white to a wedding, ANY shade of white.”

And another user said: “If someone wore that to my wedding I'd literally never speak to them again.”

Some wedding guests said they would throw red wine over someone who wore a white dress to a wedding. One said: “Red wine immediately.”

Another said: “It will be red if you show up my wedding like that.” And another added: “I’m throwing wine on it.”
