Katie Boulter and Alex de Minaur both picked up titles on Sunday.

Tennis power couple Katie Boulter and Alex de Minaur both took home silverware on a successful Sunday – winning tournaments in the same week for the second time this season.

Boulter won her third career title in Nottingham, successfully defeating former world No 1 Karolina Pliskova to defend her crown on home soil.

While, in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, de Minaur continued his fine 2024 season by beating Sebastian Korda in straight sets to win his ninth career title at the Libema Open.

It was a dramatic day for British No 1 Boulter, who had to finish her semi-final against Emma Raducanu on Sunday morning – winning both sets held on Sunday to reach the final.

And there she battled from a set down to beat Pliskova, prevailing 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 to defend the title – and receiving a huge boost to her chances of being seeded at Wimbledon.

The 27-year-old joked about de Minaur’s earlier success in her post-match speech.

“My boyfriend didn’t make the trip even though I thought he might after his win in ‘s-Hertogenbosch,” she joked.

“We will have to be talking about that tonight and see if we’re still going to be together. I hope he’s listening to this because we’ve got some talking to do.

“This is a bit of Deja vu. I’m not entirely sure if I’m dreaming or if this just happened. It’s incredible to be here. This place will always have a special place in my heart.

“It’s been an incredible week for me.”

It was a much more straightforward week for de Minaur, with the Australian not dropping a set on his way to victory.

The world No 9 beat third seed Ugo Humbert in Saturday’s semi-final, before downing Korda 6-2, 6-4 to win his second title of the season.

And, much like his first triumph of 2024, he claimed the title the same week as Boulter.

Back in February, he beat Casper Ruud to win the Mexican Open title, while Boulter beat Marta Kostyuk to win the biggest title of her career in San Diego that same week.

There will be little time for either to celebrate, though, with both back in action this coming week.

De Minaur will be the second seed at Queen’s, where he was the runner-up last season.

He will begin his campaign against the tricky Lorenzo Musetti, with a potential final rematch against top seed Carlos Alcaraz likely in current form.

Meanwhile, Boulter will be the fourth seed at the Birmingham Classic and is up against Anhelina Kalinina in round one.
