This news comes on the heels of school districts across the country exploring different dress codes, in order to stop distractions in the classrooms. In a letter from Principal Nick DeSantis, parents were informed that the school had adopted a new dress code based on "policy feedback from families, faculty and staff." The reason for the ban on black clothing? DeSantis wrote that the look has “taken over the campus” and is associated with “depression and mental health issues and/or criminality.”

Artspace111 in Fort Worth has announced 51 artists from across Texas selected for its annual juried exhibition. See a list of the selected artists below. Each year, a guest juror selects artworks from the submissions and names prize winners, who receive cash awards. This year’s juror is Margaret (Maggie) Adler, former Curator of Paintings, Sculpture and Works on Paper at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art, who is currently working as an independent curator.
