TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A local tradition in Terre Haute returns with a vintage aircraft display.

The 11th annual vintage fly in at Sky King Airport brought several different types of planes out for display and flight for the public. Some of the planes are homemade and vary in age, with the oldest being from 1941. Manager John Ross says the event has come a long way over the years.

“Started off with a ruckus, like this yellow airplane behind me,” Ross said. “Started off with like five of them in the area, we thought it would be neat to get them together and have hot dogs or something. It just grew every year to now, we have a full vintage aircraft fly in.”

Ross added that if you have ever wanted to fly, don’t wait and head down to Sky King.
