Who can apply for a disaster loan?

Residents (homeowners and renters) and businesses affected by the June 25 storms can apply for low-interest loans if they live in Monroe, Brown, Greene, Lawrence, Morgan, Owen as well as Vigo, Clay, Jackson, Parke, Sullivan and Vermillion counties. Businesses and private nonprofits can borrow up to $2 million to repair or replace disaster-damaged or destroyed buildings, equipment and other business assets, said Stacey Poynter, SBA Indiana's district director, in a news release. For home loans, the limit is $500,000 for the repair or replacement of real estate and $100,000 to repair or replace personal property.
