TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology recently announced it has a new Dean of Faculty.

Renee Rogge, PhD, moved into the role on July 1. She will be responsible for helping Rose-Hulman reach its academic goals and she will work closely with academic department heads.

Rogge is also a professor of Biomedical Engineering and has been a Rose-Hulman faculty member since 2004 and will continue to teach as well. Rogge received her bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from Tulane University in 1996 and her doctorate 4 years later from the University of Iowa with her concentration on the biomechanics of distal radius fractures. While she loves teaching, she’s happy about this new opportunity.

“It’s exciting. I’m learning a ton. It’s overwhelming the number of things that our previous Dean of Faculty has done so well, so I have big shoes to fill. I’m excited to see what impact I can have and how I can help support our faculty, staff and students,” Rogge said.

Rogge received the Board of Trustees Outstanding Scholar Award in 2014 and then the Dean’s Outstanding Teacher Award in 2018.

The previous Dean of Faculty, Russ Warley, PhD, served in the role since 2017 before returning to teaching as a Rose-Hulman faculty member.
