Need a good breakfast? This Terre Haute group has you covered!

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A charitable organization in Terre Haute has shifted the time of their monthly free breakfast offerings.

The Secular Franciscans and Friends free hot breakfast will be held this Saturday from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m.

This week’s breakfast will consist of biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, and sausage. The meal will be served in the St. Benedict Dining Room located at the corner of 9th and Walnut streets in Terre Haute.

Previously the service has lasted until 10:30 a.m., Sandy Cline with the Secular Franciscan Order said the reason for the change is in hopes of getting more volunteers willing to assist with food preparations and service.

“Until the college students get back to town, we are short on volunteers in July and August to serve our breakfasts,” Cline said. “Presently volunteers arrive at 8 a.m. and work to 10:30 a.m. If you have corporate or public service teams or individuals so inclined, we’d be delighted to hear from you via text or email.”

Cline added that most guests that attend the breakfast arrive in the first ten minutes, so the hope is that the shorter time won’t affect many who are seeking a free meal.
