TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)—The ZTA International Convention was held this last week in Indianapolis and ISU’s chapter came away with 5 big awards.

The girls at the ISU chapter received top awards in all the possible categories at the event. Because of their performance this landed them a top rank among worldwide chapters. The girls were able to accomplish these feats through the 442 programs they have hosted over the last 2 academic years. Zeta Tau Alpha also hosted regular study sessions, enhancing their membership and professional development skills and championing Breast Cancer Awareness.

Among the awards received was The Silver Award for Collegiate Chapter Programming. This is the highest honor possible for a ZTA chapter meaning they were recognized for having the best and most intentional programming. They also were recognized as a Crown Chapter, an annual reward chosen by the ZTA National Council to recognize chapters that have attained a special standard of excellence within their organization and campus. They also received the ZTA Foundation Award for raising $40,000 for the ZTA Foundation over the last two academic years.

“The women of ZTA at Indiana State University work extremely hard at all they do, focusing on increasing their campus involvement, boosting community service, and of course, placing a strong emphasis on academics,” Kaylee Prewitt, President of the Zeta Tau Alpha chapter noted in an email. “However, these women also prioritize their ‘sisterhood’ and seek to create true friendships that withstand the test of time.”
