Fire danger bumps up to “moderate” for Teton region before July 4
This story is part of our Quick Hits series. This series will bring you breaking news and short updates from throughout the state. Fire danger has been raised to “moderate” for the Teton area. That includes Grand Teton National Park, Bridger-Teton National Forest and the National Elk Refuge. The increase is due to warmer and windier conditions, and the fact that grasses, shrubs and trees are drying out. There’s no fire ban in place for the moment.
Teton Pass opens after three-week closure
UPDATE, 12:01 p.m. June 28: According to eyewitnesses, the gate on the west side of Highway 22 just lifted, and the first cars are headed up Teton Pass since the mudslide and subsequent Big Fill Landslide on June 7 and 8. Speeds are reduced to 25 mph near the mudslide.

Teton Pass to Reopen Friday
Wyoming State Highway 22, Teton Pass, is set to reopen this Friday with an interim detour around the Big Fill landslide at milepost 12.8. The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) began work on the detour immediately after the collapse on June 8. Crews from Evans Construction and WYDOT personnel have been working tirelessly over the past three weeks to construct a paved, two-lane detour to reconnect the communities in the Teton Valley.
Jackson Hole Auctioning Iconic Sublette Chairs for Charity
To celebrate the iconic Sublette Quad's decades of service, JHMR is auctioning off a limited supply of chairs with 20% of proceeds donated to Teton Adaptive. The auction runs from today, June 26th, 2024 through Wednesday, July 3rd, 2024. Chairs must be picked up at JHMR on July 13th. Residents of Teton County can pay $300 to have the chair(s) delivered to their home.

Jackson pedestrian hit by vehicle in critical condition
JACKSON (WNE) — A pedestrian struck by a vehicle last week remains in critical condition in an East Idaho hospital. The driver, a Jackson resident who has not been identified, hit Jackson resident Francisco Rodriguez, 75, at 11:15 p.m. on June 19 when Rodriguez began crossing South Park Loop Road at the intersection with Highway 89.
