Burn Ban Lifted For North Central Idaho
The burn ban for North Central Idaho has been lifted. Officials with several agencies including the Idaho Department of Lands have lifted the ban on the Grangeville Fire Restrictions area which includes Latah County locally. Officials say the recent cooler weather led to the burn ban being lifted. The ban was initiated in late July.
Declo football puts in work on and off the field
REXBURG, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — We here at KMVT usually show football highlights from on the field, but how about some from off the field regarding the Declo football team. The Hornets were headed to Driggs to play Teton in the first game of the season. As they were nearing Rexburg, they got a call from their coach who was driving a few miles ahead, warning them that 60 power poles had been blown over in a windstorm and were blocking the road.

Kuna Police chase ends with 17-year-old in custody for stolen vehicle
KUNA, Idaho (CBS2) — A vehicle pursuit in Kuna ended Monday morning with the arrest of a 17-year-old boy. Kuna Police report that deputies attempted to stop a stolen vehicle near N. Ten Mile Rd. and W. Ardell Rd, around 10:30 a.m. on Monday. The vehicle failed to stop as deputies tried to pull the driver over, and a short pursuit began, according to police.

Montana Ranchers Burned Out: Where’s the Big Talk Now?
Where are our guys? Has anyone heard from Tester or Raines yet on help for the ranchers who have been burned out by the fires? There are 56 huge fires now burning in Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming. Most of ours are related to the fierce lightning that moved through last Wednesday. I saw some of the most gut-wrenching photos this morning of a family's cows that couldn't get out of the way in time. It broke my heart to see this cruelty that Mother Nature delivered to them. I love all my animals, much like most ranchers, and I don't know if I could handle it either. Cows and their calves lying there next to each other where they died an awful death. I wish there was more we could do.
Idaho Transportation Department recognizes Just Serve
RIGBY — On Aug. 22, the Idaho Transportation Board recognized Just Serve of Rexburg as ITD District 6’s Adopt-a-Highway Group of the Year for 2024. In April and May of 2024, Just Serve organized hundreds of volunteers to clean up state highways across Jefferson, Madison, Fremont and Teton counties.
