Opening doors for all: Meet incoming CEI President Lori Barber
IDAHO FALLS — The recently-selected second president of College of Eastern Idaho Lori Barber knows firsthand what it means to be a nontraditional college student. “I went to college right after high school — went for four years, but never finished because I changed my major and then got married,” she said. “(We) started a family, and education just kind of got lost in time’s wake.”
SSHS Football Brings Back Familiar Faces
They say before you look to the future you must first learn from the past. The Soda Springs 2024 football team will be able to accomplish both simultaneously as they have brought back a pair of familiar faces to be co-head coaches. Rod Worthington and Scott Gambles each started coaching football in 1990. Scott started right off with the Cardinals while Rod was coaching for a different school. In 1995 Rod had the opportunity to join the Cardinal staff and the two men just meshed well as they served as assistant coaches for a few years before Rod took over as head coach. “I became the head coach but really at the same time we were working it together. So when they approached us about doing this we said if we come back into that role again we come back together.” In other words they are a package deal.
Not ready to give up on public schools
In my column last week describing my trip home from Coeur d’ Alene, I mentioned that a few items of consideration were approved by the general delegate assembly despite my dissenting vote. I would like to editorialize about one of them. As you may have read, one of the...

BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Located inside Hotel Renegade, The Highlander says they're the only rooftop bar in Boise to offer year-round service. "There are several rooftop bars that deliver great cocktails and great food, but eight floors up with the amount of views and capacity that we're able to hold kind of separates us from everybody else," said beverage operations manager for Hotel Renegade, Forrest Ostrander. "The Highlander is a craft cocktail bar and lounge with a 180-degree wraparound rooftop terrace patio that oversees the Owyhee Mountain Range, the Boise Foothills and the downtown's landscape of Boise itself."

Even with genetic heart disease, Bedke leaves Idaho State as one of its most prolific cowgirls
It wasn’t exactly the ending Zoie Bedke envisioned. The former Idaho State national champion didn’t even make the breakaway roping short go round in her final appearance at the College National Finals Rodeo (June 9-15) at the Ford Wyoming Center in Casper. But it was hard to be too disappointed, especially when she could have very easily not even been there in the first place. A little more than four...
