Mount Olive Pirates bring swimming, camaraderie and summer memories to township children for over 50 years

Son wakes up from nap to find his 37-year-old mom stabbed to death in their N.J. home
A 37-year-old man was arrested in New York City hours after he stabbed a woman to death in her Edison home on Sunday, authorities said. Lizbeth Benitez-Ramirez was found dead by her son in their home on Horizon Drive after he woke up from a nap at about 4:30 p.m., the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office said Monday.
Local Rahway Filmmakers Speak to Students at City's TeenWorks Program
RAHWAY, NJ — The brotherly duo of Isaiah and Joshua Moorehead, two-thirds of the filmmaking team Local Losers (the third member is their childhood friend and fellow Rahway High School alumna Lauren Elise), spoke to 18 RHS students on Monday, July 22, at the Rahway Recreation Center. The students were there as part of TeenWorks, the city's six-week summer youth employment program. The brothers stopped by to share a bit about their journey from RHS graduates to burgeoning (and already award-winning!) filmmakers.
Lambertville Police Release Late June Police Blotter
LAMBERTVILLE, NJ - Lambertville Police released a blotter for mid June through early July. Officers responded to a business on Bridge Street at about 9:41 a.m. June 19 for a female refusing to leave. The situation was de-escalated and the woman left without incident. Sgt. Gramlich was the investigating officer.

NJ Transit Experiences Major Delays Due to Downed Power Lines
RAHWAY, NJ — On Sunday, July 21, NJ Transit service experienced major delays due to downed power lines on the tracks. Services were suspended from Newark to Metro Park. The Rahway Police Department made the announcement around 5:10 p.m. on Sunday. At the time, the Rahway PD said that NJ Transit was on the scene, and repairs were underway.

One day, an older man, Peter Friedman, (Brin D. Coats) walks into his office. He is downtrodden, but defiant, with his determination to find his relatives in the north. He has traveled from Alabama, leaving his wife and children behind. Still, by contrast, is well-dressed and refers to the visitor as “Sir.” That is so unlike Fiedman’s treatment in the south that Friedman becomes suspicious.
