Recently, I had the pleasure of dining at Sip Pho, a spot that's garnered a reputation for its Pho Beef Short Ribs. The experience was a mix of highs and lows. On one hand, the Pho here is absolutely phenomenal. I ordered the rare steak pho and was delighted by the thick, tender, and moist meat. The flavors were rich and truly satisfying. My friend opted for the short rib Pho, which was served in a gigantic bowl that he couldn't finish! The crab rangoons were another highlight, being incredibly tasty and a must-try.
However, not everything was perfect. There were noticeable lapses in service and food preparation. For instance, a significant oversight occurred when a vegan pho ordered by a fellow diner was mistakenly prepared with chicken broth, and there was an instance of moldy bread being served. These issues, coupled with slow service and a lack of attentiveness from the servers, somewhat marred the dining experience.
Despite these hiccups, the charm of the decor and the generally nice employees did shine through. While Sip Pho might not be the best pho spot ever, it's definitely a solid choice in central Austin, especially if you're around UT. Just be prepared for potential inconsistencies, but when they get it right, it's truly a delight.
