Tanya Lloyd, a 17year public school teacher, recently announced her candidacy for the 27th Congressional District versus incumbent Rep. Michael Cloud.

Lloyd states, “I am not a politician, I’m a first grade public school teacher. As a life-long Republican voter, I am running as a Democrat for Congress because I am deeply concerned about the future of this country: the extreme attacks on our public education system, on women’s healthcare, and the political division threatening our democracy.” She continued, “unfortunately, our country is in a tough place and our district needs strong, mature representation in Washington that our current representative is not providing.”

Lloyd is a first grade public school teacher, a wife, and a mother. She said she is running to address the economic challenges of TX-27, including the pressing challenges of rural healthcare, to standup for her students and their families and make sure our community has a constructive voice in Washington. She feels that Congress needs a 1st grade teacher.
