In a blow to the Biden administration’s antitrust agenda, Ada Brown of the federal district court in Dallas temporarily halted the Federal Trade Commission’s noncompete ban set to take effect September 4 and committed to ruling by the end of August on the merits of the plaintiffs’ request that the ban be permanently enjoined.

On April 23, 2024, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) voted to issue a rule that not only bans most employers from requiring workers to sign noncompete agreements but also invalidates existing noncompete agreements for non-executive employees. FTC’s Ban on Noncompete Agreements Has Far-Reaching Impact

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is reminding several computer companies that "warranty void if removed" stickers are illegal, as is language discouraging consumers from fixing their own devices. The Commission warned ASRock, Gigabyte and Zotech to get rid of them and remove terms threatening to void warranties if users break the seal, it wrote in a press release spotted by The Verge.
