The US Geological Survey reports eight in just the past 24 hours on top of a cluster on Friday and Saturday.

A geologist says the speed of the fracking process in West Texas might have something to do with the recent quakes.

The Prothro Distinguished Professor of Geological Sciences at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Dr. Jonathan Price says in the fracking process, fluids, oil and gas are taken out of the ground and drillers need to put water back in.

He says while fracking replenishes the lost liquid, the problems may have been in the speed. He says you can't rush the process. Seismologist Dr. Brian Stump of SMU says it's not certain the recent quakes are related to human activity.
