Contractor found dead inside Wise Co. Courthouse

WISE CO. ( KFDX/KJTL ) — The Wise County Courthouse is under restoration, but it is now under investigation after a contractor was found dead inside the second floor on Friday morning.

Glenn Hejny, 58, of Ennis, TX, was found dead inside the courthouse by his superintendent on arrival at the job site.

According to The Messenger , Decatur Police Chief Delvon Campbell said it appeared to be a work accident, that Hejny fell off his ladder and acquired a head injury at the time of the fall.

The Decatur Police Department is working the scene as an unattended death.

Hejny owns Hejny Contracting Incorporated, specializing in general contracting work like high-end customized cabinets and installing windows, which was the work being done at the time of his death.

Wise County Judge J.D. Clark and Wise County Courthouse Restoration both issued statements on Friday morning, sending condolences to the Hejny family.
