WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — A former employee at the Allred Unit in Wichita County won’t see any jail time herself after pleading guilty to smuggling drugs into the prison.

Amy Walls, 43, of Wichita Falls, accepted a plea deal on the charge of bribery in July 2024. On Thursday morning, August 22, Walls appeared in the 89th District Court and pled guilty to the charge.

Visiting Judge Jim Hogan sentenced Walls to three years of deferred adjudication, allowing Walls to avoid spending any time behind bars.

According to court documents, the bribery charge stemmed from September 2019, when Walls was an employee at the James Allred Unit just outside of Wichita Falls city limits.

The indictment said Walls accepted money from two inmates for bringing drugs into the prison.

In addition to probation, Walls was ordered to complete 80 hours of community service, and she was forbidden from getting another job at a correctional facility.
