    Heat dome begins to erode in Texoma

    WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — An excessive heat warning continues until 9 p.m. tonight. Otherwise, the overnight low temperature will be 78 degrees in Wichita Falls, with a high tomorrow 102. The heat index value tomorrow will be up to 105 degrees. Good news is on the horizon as the “heat dome” erodes and high pressure shifts eastward, allowing temperatures to finally settle into the 90s as we head into the coming days.

    As the high pressure begins to weaken, an approaching front will head southward toward Texoma, increasing the chance for showers and thunderstorms by late week and into the weekend.
