WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — Wichita Falls police said a man admitted he should not have gotten drunk, torn up a fast food restaurant, and broken into the restaurant manager’s home to fight him over a woman.

Michael Lorenzo Garcia, 29, was arrested at the manager’s home and charged with burglary with intent to commit another felony.

Meth meant for prison intercepted on Seymour Highway

Police were called to the Whataburger at Central Freeway and Maurine Street at about 3 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 6, where they were told a man was destroying the store. Before they could get there, the suspect had left, and witnesses said when he found out the manager wasn’t in the business, he said he was going to his residence to assault him.

A few minutes later, police were alerted to a burglary in progress at that residence on Monroe.

When they arrived, they said they found a window in a child’s bedroom shattered, and Garcia was on the front porch.

The victim told officers Garcia had been sending him threatening messages about an alleged affair involving Garcia’s girlfriend and that he was on his way to his house.

The victim said when Garcia arrived, he broke into the window of the children’s bedroom and started yelling that he was there to fight.

Police say Garcia agreed to speak to them, but anything he said would make him look bad. They said he told them he had gotten drunk, went looking for the victim, and admitted he should not have.

Court records show previous convictions for Garcia for assault in 2016 and resisting arrest in 2014.

A charge of criminal mischief in 2014 was dismissed.
