WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL )—High pressure begins to shift westward out of the central Rockies and into the central and southern plains. As a result, warmer temperatures are on the way and in the forecast for Texoma. In the meantime, tonight’s (Sunday) overnight low in Wichita Falls will be 56 degrees with a high on Monday of 87 degrees. In Lawton, the overnight low will also be 57 degrees, and have a high temperature on Monday of 89 degrees.

As the ridge of high pressure builds into the region, an area of low pressure in the Gulf of Mexico may possibly become a tropical depression at the very least, if not, a tropical storm. The ridge of high pressure will initially be the main contributor for warmer temperatures but the low will also be pushing low-level moisture and warmth from the gulf into Texoma. The warming trend should reach its peak by next weekend. Rain chances are minimal at this time.
