WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — A lucky Electra resident is now a millionaire after a scratch ticket they purchased at a gas station in Wichita Falls ended up being a top prize winner.

According to a news release from the Texas Lottery published on Monday, September 9, 2024, a resident of Electra claimed a winning scratch ticket worth $1 million, the top prize in the Jackpot Millions scratch game .

The news release said the $1 million prize winner chose to remain anonymous.

Officials with the Texas Lottery said the winning ticket was purchased at Murphy Express in the 3100 block of Lawrence Road in Wichita Falls.

The news release said the $1 million top prize claimed by the anonymous Electra resident is the first of four to be claimed in the Jackpot Millions game.

According to the Texas Lottery website , there are over 6 million total scratch tickets in Jackpot Millions.

According to the news release, the overall odds of winning any prize in the Jackpot Millions scratch game, including break-even prizes, are 1 in 3.88.
