DUNCAN ( KFDX/KJTL ) — A Lawton woman is dead after a highway collision on Wednesday afternoon.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports the collision happened a half-mile south of the intersection at Duncan Bypass and West Bois “D” Arc Avenue at around 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 11, but the cause of the collision is still under investigation.

The driver of the first vehicle, a 59-year-old Elgin woman, was transported to Duncan Regional Hospital in fair condition with unknown injuries.

The second driver was Elizabeth Brundige, 61, of Lawton, who was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.

OHP reports both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
