    Altus police looking into motorcycle fatality

    ALTUS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — Altus police have confirmed an ongoing investigation into a motorcycle fatality that occurred Thursday, Sept. 12.

    A statement from Chief Tim Murphy said the wreck took the life of Pierre Gerald Pelletier, 66, around 8:30 p.m. after his bike was struck by a pickup truck while stopped to make a left turn.

    Police said both vehicles were traveling westbound on Tamarack Road when the pickup truck hit the motorcycle from behind as it waited to turn left onto Tiera Rica.

    Pelletier was transported to the Jackson County Memorial Hospital by EMS, where he was later pronounced deceased. The pickup truck driver was also transported with minor injuries.
