WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — The event everyone has been waiting for is finally here and there will be tacos galore.

Taco Fest was originally created in response to a racist comment but has become an extraordinary fundraiser for the Zavala Hispanic Initiative, a local non-profit that focuses on empowering not only the Hispanic community but everyone else in search of educational, cultural, and leadership opportunities.

This event strives to unite and promote racial equality in Wichita Falls and surrounding areas by showcasing local Hispanic vendors and delicious authentic food.

Taco Fest proudly supports all local businesses, not just Hispanic businesses, by inviting them to participate. All money raised will be used directly to empower those in the community seeking educational resources like scholarships for local students.

This year’s Taco Fest will feature live entertainment and music, Zavala International Dance Group performances, a free kids’ zone, and over 40 local vendors, including TACOS.

This event will take place at 713 Ohio Ave from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sept. 21, 2024.

Admission for children 12 and under is free, while adults and children 13 and over get in for only $5. Military, veterans and college students get in for $3.
