WICHITA COUNTY ( KFDX/KJTL ) — A lengthy manhunt for a suspect who fled from the scene of an alleged theft attempt has ended with no arrests, according to authorities.

Joyner said one of the suspects was detained and the other fled on foot into a heavily wooded area. He said it was determined that the landowner had caught the suspects on his property, possibly stealing property.

Joyner said a perimeter was set up by the Wichita County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Parks and Wildlife, and Wichita County Constables. He said K-9 units and drones were deployed.

According to Joyner, deputies cleared the scene following a lengthy search. He said the suspect who was detained was released from the scene pending further investigation.

No additional information has been released by authorities at this time.
